Shorter route for those unable to join the 100 club. Harbour square.

Gelston, CD, Laurieston, GH ( coffee Masonic Arms) Kbt.

35 miles at 14 mph (approx) 

Saturday 2nd June

I'm going to be doing a long ride on Saturday up to Moniaive aiming for about 100 miles. I'll be leaving Harbour sq, at 8am, all welcome.

Half Marathon Day.

Harbour Square 9.00am

Route... figure of 8.

Kbt, Borgue, Knoxbrex, Minto, Kbt, Gelston, CD, Kirkcudbright,

Coffee / beer at the Masonic Arms Kbt.   at the end of the run. (bikes round the back)

Half Marathon times...walkers at 9.00am runners at 11am.

Propose route, nice easy pace for the old boys, coffee at Garden Centre

Harbour square 9.00am.

Route.  Gelston, Dalbeattie, Haugh (coffee), Old Bridge of Urr, Clarebrand, Laurieston, Kirkcudbright.

Return route can be changed. Additional route via Gatehouse for those feeling fit.

Trip to Arran Saturday 5th May.

Please confirm by Thursday if you are going to Arran on Saturday. Please phone or e mail J.Carson or J. Boyd.

We can then organise transport. Departure time on Saturday is 7 am in order to catch the 9.45 ferry from Ardrossan.


Saturday 27th April

Harbour Square 9.00am as usual.


34 miles average speed13/14 mph depending on the wind.

Out to Palnackie for coffee and return. Extra loop possible for those feeling strong!


Next week is the group outing. Please confirm if you are going. We have been in touch with Calmac and there is a little doubt about the ferry. If there is a problem plan "B" is to start in Newton Stewart cycle round the Machars ( 60 miles) with lunch at Portwilliam.

John Carson has checked this route and whilst not hill free, it is relatively flat!!
